Spera – RIP!

Age: 11 years old
Sex: female

We speak now about an elderly lady, older than 11 years, who was taken to the vet in coma, having septicemia, being hypothermic and having an increased sensibility in the abdomen, with hematuria. After the general clinical examination, the analysis and the stabilization were performed, she needed surgical intervention, because she was suspected of pyometra. It was a pyometra with a breach to the abdomen, which could turn any moment into peritonitis. In addition to this, she had micro-polycystic ovaries, like clusters of grapes. After the hysterectomy, she was rigorously washed to remove any trace of pus from the abdomen and to avoid peritonitis. Then, she underwent antibiotic therapy, to which she responded very well, since she is alive.
She is from the Public Shelter she will not go anymore there because there the chances to be adopted at her age are 0, at us are the same but we can offer her at least a better life.
